BaBy-Q

Last weekend was such a fun weekend for the Walls/Schartzs/ and Smits!!  We celebrated the upcoming arrival of Baby Girl Schartz with a BBQ Baby shower!!

This was such fun event!  My wonderful talented sissy helped me get everything planned, in order, and set up for the shower that was set to host around 45 people!  Brad and Mel didn't want a traditional baby shower (thank god because I personally am not fan) so we went with a BBQ/party type of thing with baby themed décor.  I couldn't have made this lovely event happen without all the help from my amazing husband who smoked all the meat for the party, Melanie's sister and mom who made a beautiful cake, diaper cake, and some food, my Dad who brought tons of delicious food, and of course my sissy as I already mentioned!  I am so thankful to have such wonderful people in my life.

They had such a great turnout of family and friends.  Baby girl Schartz is one lucky little lady already.  We had family drive from over 3 hours away to be there and others ride the greyhound in from out of town just to make sure they were there to celebrate with these two soon to be parents.  I can't wait to meet my precious niece in August!!

Here are some pics from the fabulous party!

Catching Up....February-May

May ALREADY?

How is this year going by so incredibly fast?  Apparently I have failed to blog for, oh you know the last 5 months!  So sorry!  A lot has happened at The Wall House!  I will do a month by month recap to catch you all up to speed.

February 2014

The first weekend we surprised Brian's sister, Kellie, for her 30th Birthday in Florida!!  It was so much fun traveling to see her and she was extremely surprised to see her whole family in Florida for her!  We got to meet our nephew Austin, Kellie & Ryan's little boy, for the first time this weekend as well!

The following weekend we had a surprise 40th Birthday party for my sister in Wichita!  This was also amazing!  She was so surprised!  Her reaction was very different from Kellie's the previous week though! ha!  Kellie cried and Erin laughed!  Love them both!

The rest of February was pretty low key.  We were suppose to travel to the lake with some friends but unfortunately we had a death in the family and weren't able to leave town.  We were also suppose to travel to St. Louis to see Brian's sister, Jess, and her husband Kenny, but the weather prevented us from being able to drive that far.  Darn snow!!!

March 2014

March wasn't quite as busy with the traveling but still lots of fun things happened.  Lots of basketball  happening in our house in March!  Pretty much the whole month.

We also found out that my brother and Melanie are having a baby GIRL!!!  We can't wait for her to arrive in August!!  Brad and Mel also moved a mile away from Brian and I this month!  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE having them so close to us!  I'm sure they don't share quite as much enthusiasm as me but that's ok:)

April 2014

The first half of April was spent finishing up March Madness and the final four, me judging cheerleading tryouts, and attending the annual dental conference in Kansas City to make sure I keep up to date on Dental things, since that is my profession.

For Easter we traveled to Chicago to spend it celebrating Brian's uncle Warren, who got confirmed into the Catholic church.  We were so honored to be able to be there with him as he took this huge step in his life and faith.  We also got to witness him and Val getting married!!!  They surprised everyone with this on Easter Sunday!  We were all so excited and thrilled for them and to be there for their special day!

The next weekend we packed up the dogs and headed to St. Louis to spend the weekend with Jess and Kenny!  Jordy and Reese in a car for four hours=NOT FUN.  Poor Reese is so scared of the car its awful.  So we had to drug her.  I felt bad but it was the only way and it made the car ride much more pleasant!  The drugs were from the vet so they were legit and definitely made her woozy!  Success!!

May 2014

And now we are to May, almost June!  I will just add what May entailed because its practically June and I am going to try and not get so far behind on blogging from now on.  Try is the key word there, no promises.

The first weekend I went to Philadelphia to visit my brother, niece, and Jeff.  It was so much fun!  Let me tell you, Avery, my niece, is a three and a half year old TORNADO!!  Holy cow!  I needed a vacation from my vacation to recover!  Whoever invented the terrible twos clearly didn't have a three and a half year old!

The next couple weekends were low key.  We had a couple of our best friends turn 30.  A good friend come to town from Dallas.  Brian had corporate challenge.  Nothing crazy.

Memorial Day weekend, last weekend, whew I am FINALLY caught up, was spent with my nephew Brady.  Last year he came up for the weekend but it was the same weekend I broke my face playing softball so we didn't get to do anything fun!  This year we went to a Sporting KC game, the movies, out to dinner, Brady, Brian, Brad, and Papa Ron played golf, and we relaxed a lot.  Much more eventful than last year!  This weekend Brady turns 14 and is going to be a Freshmen in high school next year!!  I can't believe this!  He is growing up so fast!!!

Hope you all had a safe and fun Memorial day weekend!!  I am extremely excited that summer is FINALLY here!!  I can't wait to go to the pool, relax, and enjoy some sun:)

A few of my favorite things

I am going to share a few of my favorite beauty supplies that I use everyday and can't leave home without....Not that anyone really cares but I like to share awesome things I find and everyone should have awesome things right!?  BUT lesbi-honest...most of these things I didn't find myself,  I had them recommended to me by my sister, friends, or I read about it on someone else's blog or in a magazine.

Hair

I use L2 on my hair EVERYDAY!!  Whether I wash it or not, and I don't wash my hair that often.  Don't judge me my hair can't handle being washed everyday.  This stuff is amazing for your hair for sunscreen and a leave in conditioner, plus it smells divine!  Trust me and go get yourself some L2.

Lips

I wear this lipstick everyday.  I didn't use to wear lipstick at all but now I wear it everyday.  I love wearing lipstick and this stuff is amazing, smells good, lasts a long time, and won't break the bank!!   Its called SEPHORA COLLECTION Color Lip Last. I have "Rose Bouquet" that is a great everyday color.  I just recently bought "Wanted Red" because I really needed a good red lipstick for myself.  I am very impressed with it!

Eyes

I am just going to be real here,  I am not that great at putting on makeup.  Ok so I stink at it!  But I try and I am getting better!!!  I do ALWAYS wear mascara.  NO. MATTER. WHAT.  unless I am working out, it's not needed when getting my sweat on.  It's hard to find a good mascara that you love and does what you need it to do, plus there are like a million and fifty choices to choose from!  Ain't nobody got time for that.  So I have found one that I love that Abbey recommended to me and I won't buy any other kind from now on.  Here it is:

Urban Decay - Supercurl Curling Mascara
Urban Decay Supercurl Curling Mascara
It really helps your lashes look longer!!  I dig it.

Now this is stuff I just recently found out about and for gals like me that don't know how, or don't have the patience, or eye for putting on eye shadow, this stuff is so cool and looks like you know what you are doing, even though I have no clue, it looks like I layered eye shadow!  PROMISE!!!  But I really didn't hehe, so tricky and don't tell my secret.... It's this:

High shine eyecolor.  It comes in several different colors.  I have meteorite.

This next item is something that is pretty new to me as well.  I have been using it for 3 months and I'm not going to stop anytime soon.

 Bare Minerals Well-Rested.

This really brightens up your eyes and makes you look less tired!  We could all use a little "well-rested" in our lives, especially when we aren't REALLY well-rested.

I have been using BB cream to help my face look smoother and have really liked it.  I recently bought some CC cream from Sephora.  I love it!  It's thicker than my BB cream and works really well to even out my uneven skin tone, plus it has sunscreen in it!!!

SEPHORA COLLECTION - Skin Perfect CC Cream SPF 20
I am 30 now so I need to really be aware of my skin changing and make sure that I always have sunscreen on my face.  I really don't want to get wrinkles earlier in life than necessary!!  I wear bare minerals powder which also has sunscreen in it but I am even more aware and concerned now that I have turned 30.

Perfume.  Oh how I LOVE perfume.  When I was little I ALWAYS wanted to wear my moms perfume.  She wore Beautiful by Estee Lauder.  I have a bottle of it but don't wear it that often.  Come to think of it I should probably throw some on every now and then.  I have a few favorites.  I love Armani Mania, Cocoa Chanel Mademoiselle, and Flower Bomb.  I wear perfume everyday as well.  It's just something that I love to wear.  I try to wear something soft and subtle when working or wear less so I don't overpower my patients in the chair!

So those are a few of my favorite beauty products!  What are some of your favorite beauty products?  I would love to hear!  I always enjoy fabulous recommendations!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
