Trip Recap

California was wonderful!  A HUGE thank you to Molly for hosting us at her house for 3 days!

The trip consisted of a LOT of "girl" things.  We went to lunch, went shopping, went to Hollywood and Beverly Hills, got pedicures and manicures, talked until we had no words left or were literally falling asleep in the middle of our sentences.  This actually happened to all of us one night or another haha.  It was all around fantastic.

Saturday evening Meg, Kate, and I attended Palm Sunday Mass at St. Monica's in Santa Monica.  The church was stunning and the priest was just great.  He had a great homily.  We all left feeling so blessed, energized, and extremely excited for Easter this coming weekend!!!  Hopefully we brought the nice weather back to Kansas for everyone's Easter Celebrations.

At St. Monica's for Mass.  Look at the gorgeous Palm leaves!!

While I had a wonderful time with the girls this weekend I really missed my B and puppies.  They had a wonderful basketball watching, snow shoveling, sleepy weekend without me.  Can't really say I am too sad I missed snow storm part 3.

The plane ride home was not as pleasant as the rest of the trip I must say.  There were at least 10 people coughing every two minutes. GROSS.. And a person sitting an aisle over was doing something so strange.  It sounded like he was blowing his nose, hacking, and breathing into a bag every couple of minutes.  Get it under control kid because I told Meg if I get sick from this damn kid I'm gonna track him down and beat him, haha ok not really but still.  Meg and I even stood up to see what in the world was going on with him.  His Dad had on headphones, smart man, he knew his kid was making nasty ass noises on the plane.  Yes this last the entire 3 hours of the flight.  Lovely.

I wanted to show you the nail polish I used for my mani/pedi I am obsessed with it now.  It is a gorgeous pink with a little sparkle in it.  Acca-amazing!!! hehe...

Hawaii here we come....

Aloha-

First off I would like to say...I love my K-State Wildcats!!  Awesome game on Saturday!  Kicked the Longhorns butts!  Loved every minute of it.  Brian and I got to hear Bill Snyder and Colin Klein speak after the game and it was wonderful.  I am so proud to be a Wildcat everyday!  I also got a picture with Meshak Williams as we were crossing the field to go to our car, I thought it was pretty cool:)

This Thursday Brian and I leave for Seattle then head to Hawaii on Friday!!  We are so excited!  Neither of us have ever been to Hawaii so it will be a fun first for both of us to experience together.  We are starting on Oahu.  We fly in to Honolulu on Pearl Harbor Day which I think is pretty neat.  We will be on Oahu for three days and then fly to Maui for the remaining four days we are there!  We have a sunrise tour planned on Maui.  We will be waking up at 2am and going to the top of a Volcano and watching the sunrise and then biking down afterwards!  I can't wait for this adventure!  We are also going to go on a helicoptor tour of Maui, see Pearl Harbor, relax on the beach of course and I'm sure several other fun activities!  I will tell you all about them when we return!

Uncle Brad will be taking care of our house and our puppies.  Oh lord help us.  haha jk he will do a fantastic job!  Lets just say that Brad isn't so much of a morning person and Jordy and Reese like to wake up at oh you know 5:45 am!  haha I'm interested to hear how that goes for a week:)

I will be turning 29 while in Hawaii!!  I think I said this last time BUT HOLY SMOKES 29!  I blinked and went from 22 to 29!!  When we return from Hawaii its busy busy busy and only 7 months until our wedding!!!!  Getting more and more excited everyday to be Mrs. Wall!!

Have a wonderful week everyone!!  I will probably not post from Hawaii next week but I'll be back the week after with some amazing stories I'm sure!!  I haven't started packing for our trip yet which I should probably start working on and I can't forget the sunscreen, not so much for me, but I'm a little nervous B Wall is going to get a little crispy while in the Aloha state:) hehe oh well I will take Aloe Vera too!!

BOSTON

Happy Tuesday to all!!  First, I want to shout out to my baby brother Brad Lee who turned 25 yesterday!!  I can't believe he is already 25, time sure goes by fast.  Happy Birthday Brad and many many more.  Also Happy 2nd Anniversary to Kadi and Mike Atteberry and Happy Birthday Adrienne Curl!!!  This Thursday would be my Mom and Dad's Anniversary as well!  My Dad is doing wonderful and we miss my mom and love her dearly, we also know she is in heaven watching over us being our guardian angel, which is comforting.

We made it home from Boston on Sunday night at 10pm, and we had a blast while we were there.
WARNING: This post is long!!  Had tons of adventures in Boston!!

To start the trip off we had to get up at 3am to leave for the airport because our flight was at 6am.  Doesn't sound that bad because we were going to go to bed fairly early to get some sleep.  Well as things tend to go that didn't happen.  I had already packed and was just cleaning up the house a little before we left, because I could NOT leave with our house a mess.  I took a picture downstairs, and on my way back up I noticed the carpet was a little damp?  Which is obviously not right, so I started investigating and walking around to try and see where the water was coming from.   Our sump pump is on the other side of the basement and it hadn't rained in a long time so I knew it wasn't that.  I opened the door to our unfinished area and holy crap there was TONS of water!  I thought in my head of course this would happen right before we are getting ready to leave town for 4 days!  Well, I went and got Brian and we used our shop vac to clean up the water and move things out of the room so they could dry, and we could figure out where the water was coming from.  Still don't know where it came from but it had to of been there for a while because it was at least 2 inches deep.  So we didn't get to bed until about 11pm or a little after and didn't get much sleep before having to wake up at 3am:)  Awesome...

Thursday:
We got to Boston at 12pm east coast time and went right to Ron and Joyce's apartment.  They actually live in Woburn, which is about 15 minutes from downtown Boston.   We had the Red Sox game that night, which was so cool.  Brian and I rode the subway (as I call it, but don't call it that in Boston, they call it the "T")  This seemed much easier than trying to navigate our way in Boston, because if you have ever rode with Brian and I you know how well we navigate together...  HA..not well, it usually isn't very fun at all, so the mass transportation was a fabulous choice!
We got to Feway and it was so cool!  It was a big green wall all the way around with lots of fun bars and shops around the park.  We went in to a bar and had a beer with tons of other fans going to the game that night! These people are crazy about their team!  The bar was packed at 3:30 in the afternoon on a Thursday!  Couldn't believe it, don't these people work?? Our seats in Fenway were AMAZING, we actually thought we were in the wrong seats!  But we weren't, yay!  Our seats were 3 rows up on the first base side...I could touch the players if I wanted to.  We both sat and tried to soak in all that the park had to offer, including the blazing sun that was beating down on us, I thought we had left the heat at home but apparently we took it with us to the East Coast.  Red Sox won the game and we were beat.  We got on the "T" and went back to Woburn to rest for the next day.

Friday:
Today we went to downtown Boston and took a tour of the town.  We rode a trolly that you could hop on and hop off of at different stops.  This was really cool because we learned a lot of history about Boston, which has so much that I couldn't even begin to tell it all to you.  Two things I really wanted to see while we were downtown were 1. Cheers, I used to watch Cheers with my grandparents when I was younger so I really wanted to see where this was filmed.  2. The Boston Marathon Finish Line!  Pretty sure I will never do the Boston marathon but I wanted to see where the finish line was:)  You have to run a marathon in 3 hours and 35 minutes to qualify!  I am hoping to finish my first one in 4 hours!!  I got to see everything I wanted and more and even got to have lunch at Cheers "Where everybody knows your name".   After we toured downtown we went back to the apartment and Joyce and I went to work out while Brian napped.  I was really glad to be able to workout while we were there because if I don't then I get a little grumpy so having a fitness center was a huge plus!  Also because I needed to train for that 26.2 in 17 weeks!!  We had dinner at a fabulous restaurant that evening where I got to indulge in my first whole Lobster!!  I demolished the thing, it was so delicious and so much fun, talk about working for your dinner!

Saturday:
Cape Cod was on the list for today.  We drove to the Cape, as the locals call it, and saw a few light houses and some beaches, which were all gorgeous!  We had lunch at a resort overlooking the water, wonderful experience, I felt like I was in a movie.  After lunch we were making our way to Provincetown, the tip of Massachussettes, to see the Pilgrim Monument and the very tip of MA.  On our drive there we saw a Winery and everyone knows how much I LOVE wine, so we stopped and got to do a wine tasting!  This was so much fun, not on the plans but really enjoy doing random things like this.  We ended up purchasing a bottle of wine in the shape of a light house:)  When we were nearing Provincetown we suddenly had to stop because in front of us there were police cars etc..we didn't know what was happening and then we figured it out, there was a parade in front of us! haha so we were at the very end of a parade driving into Provicetown!  We waved and people waved back like we were part of the parade.  We clearly weren't because it was a Portuguese parade and lets be honest the only one of us that could get away with 'maybe' being apart of that is me!   The other 3 I was with are very hmmm well not Portuguese looking.  After going to the Pilgrim Monument and seeing all of the Cape from the top we were ready to hop in the car for the 2 hour ride home.  That evening we just relaxed and drank some wine.

Sunday:
It was already time to pack our bags and go home.  I was having such a great time but also very excited to return home.  There is just something about being "home".  I am a homebody and love to be there.  I was also missing Jordy (our shorkie puppy).  Brad was kind enough to watch her and our house while we were gone.  Before we could head home we had one more place to see.  Harvard.  I was so excited to see the campus.  I love seeing other college campuses and this is a very historic one.  Not to mention this is my older brothers rival school, he went to Yale.  The campus was GORGEOUS just as I expected. and it was right in the middle of downtown Cambridge, MA.  The buildings were all very old and pretty.  The part I really thought was neat was Harvard Square.  It was a central point with retaurants and shops and the Harvard Book store all right there pretty much on Campus.  Summer Orientation was going on for students attending summer school while we were there.  I thought it would be funny to pretend like I was going to Harvard for summer school and that I was seeing the campus and enrolling with my family! lol...Brian DID not think this was funny in any sort of way so I stopped pretending.  hehe but it was still fun to think in my head:)  After lunch in Cambridge we headed to the airport.  It was time to leave and go home!

Boston was an amazing adventure.  There are still so many things I would love to go back and see/do.  I would love to go in the Fall while all the leaves are turning and drive up to Vermont, and I also think it would be awesome to be up there for the 4th of July!  They are very patriotic up there, naturally, but there are American Flags everywhere!  Goes great with my patriotic theme I have going on right now!  Thank you again to Mema and Papa Ron for hosting us on our trip to Boston and letting us stay at your apartment!!!!  We really appreciate it!

This week we have lots of fun things happening.  One of my very best friends is having her 2nd baby boy!!  Can't wait to meet him.  Brian and I are going to our first Sporting KC game on Friday night.  I hear they are very fun.  On Saturday I am running a 5K, the Color Run, where they throw colored powder at you and you get sort of tye dyed.  Brian will be heading to Great Bend with my brother to play in my Dad's annual golf tournament.  This is Brian's third year doing this tournament.  He won longest drive last year!  On the way home from Great Bend Brian will be picking up Brady (my nephew) to come and spend the week with Brian and I!  We are very excited for him to come and stay with us and I am sure my sister is too:)

I will be posting pictures from the Boston trip tonight!  I haven't uploaded them yet or I would have posted them throuhgout this post!  I have my weekly wine night with the girls tonight so I am pretty sure I will post pictures tonight but if for some reason I don't I will do it tomorrow for sure:)

Have a wonderful week everyone!!

2012 Adventures

Hello friends and family!  I have decided to start blogging once or twice a week on the adventures of the Schartz/Wall household.  We have lots of exciting things going on for the last half of 2012 and what better way to stay in touch and share these exciting times in our lives than blogging about them!

Brian and I are starting our adventures with a trip to Boston tomorrow.  We are going to a Red Sox game and doing anything and everything we can while we are there.  Brians Dad has an apartment in Boston so we get to stay there which is extremely nice to be able to stay somewhere other than a hotel. We can't wait to get there!

I have decided to run my first Marathon!!  Brian thinks I am crazy, which he is probably right, but this is something I have always wanted to do in my life and I decided to just do it!  I will be running the Kansas City Marathon on October 20th, I have signed up and everything so there is no turning back now!!  I have ran 3 half marathons but 26.2 is way different than 13.1.  I will keep you all updated on the training over the next 18 weeks, should be exciting.

Other adventures we have planned this year include Denver, Philadelphia, Hawaii, hopefully St. Louis and Florida and of course K-State Football in the Fall!  I absolutely love taking pictures so there will be lots of pictures of the adventures we go on posted on here and on facebook.   Now back to work and getting ready for Boston!!!
